POLICIES & PROCEDURES

For students of all levels who want to focus on learning the basic art principles of composition, design, color,  perspective, mood, techniques, etc.  Animal subjects and landscapes are the specialized focus.
Students are encouraged to work on subject matter of their choice (subject to a review with the instructor) as they are more likely to be emotionally excited about it and do well with it.  Kay uses demonstrations personalized to the individual student, coupled with describing the pigments used and descriptions of the art principles employed that help create the desired effects.

Students may sign up at any time, as space allows, as classes are on-going.  Kay uses a mentor /semi-private lesson instruction style that meets each student where they are while still utilizing formal instruction techniques.   * Doors open 15 minutes prior to class to allow for setting up.

The class fee is $110.00 ($10.00 discount for couples) for four (4),  3 hr. classes and an annual $25.00 Material Fee*  There is no discount given for time missed.  Absences are the responsibility of the students.  However, space may be available in other classes and available for make-ups.

Reservations:  Class space is limited.   Student reservations are contingent upon receipt of payment in full 1 week prior to the first class.  Space is not reserved nor guaranteed without payment received not later than 1 week prior to the next 4-week class segment.  Payment by cash, check, PayPal, VISA or MC..

Class cancellations:  Classes that are cancelled due to bad weather, the unavailability of the instructor, or unforeseen act of God will be rolled over to the next scheduled class time.

**The material fee
covers the: use of furniture and equipment; taboret, chair and easel; odorless paint solvents, specialized soap and brush cleaners, instructional hand outs, paper towels, brush or pigment samples, heat/air conditioning, lights, repairs and maintenance issues, electricity, and specialized lighting.
